These images are from a new four-screen installation by Omer Fast, one of the world’s best video artists, produced by Commonwealth Projects and premiering at the Frieze art fair in London on October 17th, 2013.
The Saprophage was shot on an iPhone (in L.A., London and Greece) and, in places, the footage was purposely distorted and damaged. Time, place and action are examined in a maelstrom of words and images. Every now and then, Mellors is also part of this fabulous, absurd saga.
As fans of Nathaniel’s work, Commonwealth Projects is excited to be working on his forthcoming film in Los Angeles.
The Mastaba, a project for Abu Dhabi, was conceived in 1977. It will be the largest sculpture in the world, made from 410,000 multi-colored barrels to form a mosaic of bright sparkling colors, echoing Islamic architecture.
The Mastaba will be Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s only permanent large-scale work.
