THE GEFFEN CONTEMPORARY AT MOCA: EXTERIOR & RETAIL POP-UP
SPATIAL DESIGN
Commissioned by The Geffen Contemporary at LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art, CWP spatially re-designed, produced, and fabricated the outer courtyard area as well as the museum’s bookstore and entrance/ticketing area. In the courtyard, a large scale Frank Gehry veranda sculpture and a variety of Robert Irwin planters laid relatively unknown and totally under-utilized. CWP re-imagined the social experience surrounding the museum, activating the courtyard with a bespoke modular communal furniture and garden system with the ability to be tailored on the fly to accommodate the multi-use space for exhibitions, events, concerts, etc.
