ASICS Novalis / Kiko Kostadinov
Asics Novalis is a standalone unisex capsule line designed by Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov, Laura and Deanna Fanning with iconic Japanese sportswear brand ASICS. Each collection develops wardrobe staples focused on day-to-day performance and wearability. There is an emphasis on function and simplicity grounded in the innovative cut, proportions and playful thought that define the Kiko Kostadinov worldview. The Bulgarian designer’s work has always functioned as somewhat of a uniform, which will continue through Novalis.
Commonwealth Projects gave form, conceptualizing the identity of Novalis as an extension of Kiko’s inherent design language. The hand-drawn typography and iconography assets merge a future-forward inertia with tooling reminiscent of unknown archaic civilizations, an intersection of science and beauty we see as the essence of the collaboration.
In 2024, Commonwealth’s sister project Total Luxury Spa will release a limited edition capsule collection in collaboration with Kiko Kostadinov / Morán Morán special project OTTO 958.

Youth To The People
Los Angeles-based skincare brand Youth To The People engaged Commonwealth Projects to conceptualize, design, and produce their flagship location in Los Angeles. Stemming from their brand ethos, the idea for a “Youth Gallery” was realized. The task [currently in progress] sees a complete overhaul and renovation of the existing space including architecture, materials and fabrication, graphic treatment, retail flow and experience, as well as programming and community engagement.
Continuing our collaboration with Youth To The People, CWP has since extended its design prowess with the London pop-up store. As an echo of "Youth Gallery" flagship in LA, this project embodies the brand's essence into an immersive sanctuary of self-care. With a comprehensive approach encompassing architecture, materials, graphics, retail flow, and community engagement, our ongoing endeavor aims to encapsulate the very ethos that YTTP represents, fostering a harmonious dialogue between nature, beauty, and the vibrant pulse of London.

Gucci Vault
With its debut exclusively through Gucci Vault, Commonweath Projects designed the capsule collection of cut & sew / graphic pieces as well as produced the campaign, UNA - Tools of Love & Mindfulness, as a collaboration with Gucci’s Vault concept stores. Although literally translated as “one”, UNA is a personification, an imaginary character or spirit animal that symbolizes all things pure, the last unspoiled elements of nature, existence, love, life and uncompromising freedom of expression. UNA intends to energize discussions around the human condition, with a percentage of proceeds going to help a local Los Angeles elementary school launch its horticultural program and plant a new garden with the kids. The collection of jackets, tees, shorts, sweat pants, books bags and beanies feature key phrases such as In the Garden of the Mind, After the Now and Earth Utopia. The pieces combine psychedelic, techno and retro-futurist typography with hand-drawn graphics, vintage tints and soulful colors creating a capsule with depth and meaning that explores the idea of personal and community well-being. All shirts were made of 100% recycled jersey.

Somni / Aitor Zabala
When commissioned to establish an identity for the re-emergence of Michelin Star chef Aitor Zabala's dining experience, Somni, we explored the concept of storytelling as a way to infuse the heritage of his native Catalonia. As stories, traditions and memories pass through ages, their translation, meaning and influence evolves as do their visual means of representation. The transition from pictogram to hieroglyph, calligraphy to printed typography, analog broadcast to digital media, has facilitated the lineage of storytelling through families and generations. This is also story in itself, one in which guests are invited to participate, exploring their own identity by conjuring experiences that tap into their earliest memories of food. This fosters a space of warmth that allows guests to dream big and experience world-class dishes that will leave a lasting impression for generations to come.

Total Luxury Spa: Liquid State
Produced by Commonwealth Projects and shot on location, the campaign for Total Luxury Spa’s fifth collection entitled “Liquid State” pays respect to our most fundamental earthly life force: water, both metaphorically and philosophically. During the pandemic, TLS has been heavily considering our immediate South Los Angeles environment as a microcosm of a larger global reality. While our bodies consist of 60% water, in 2020 more than 35% of the world’s population still doesn’t have access to clean water, a vital resource for all known forms of life. It only takes one small change in an ecosystem to bring about catastrophic change. The “Liquid State” explores the universal connection between humanity and nature, and the need to maintain this delicate balance in the universe.
